Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services - the state's official website that houses many popular resources. A number of publications that relate to many health issues are available here.

MO Dept. of Health Data and Resources - this page links many of the department's popular data sites such as:

Missouri Information for Community Assessment-MICA - houses many health indicators and allows the user to create his/her own data tables. Many of the indicators are available by conditions or manpower resources.

County Profiles - predefined tables that are health related for Missouri and counties.

Beyond Missouri:

Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System Assessment-BRFSS - is a comprehensive study that is conducted via the telephone. Information from the survey is used to improve the health of the American people. The results are used in Missouri to:

  1. provide data on communicable and chronic disease reduction, one of the indicators for "Healthy and Productive Missourians", a list of priorities for interagency planning and budgeting;
  2. identify population groups defined by demographic and other characteristics that are at greater risk of unhealthy behaviors, such as physical inactivity, smoking, consuming lower intake of fruits and vegetables, and not complying with recommended health screening schedules; and
  3. to determine the level of health care availability, including preventive health care coverage.

Youth Risk Behavioral Surveillance System-YRBS - is a survey that provides information on adolescent and youth health behaviors.

National Institutes for Health - provides users with information that allows them to become more informed on many health-related issues.

National Center for Health Statistics - in addition to data on vital statistics, this site provides a link to many health surveys and data collection systems.

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services - This site provides a variety of data and statistics, as well as resources, nationally, state-level and county-level. The most recent data are provided as well as trend data. Resources are available for consumers, providers and researchers.
