The American Community Survey - is a survey conducted by the U.S. Bureau of the Census that provides accurate and up-to-date profiles on a number of American communities each year. These profiles include population, housing, and social and economic indicators.

HUD-EZ/EC Program: Empowerment Zone/ Empowerment Communities - provides access to resources, such as their "toolbox", that are useful to rural communities that seek to enhance the quality of their futures.

North Central Regional Development Center for Rural Development - assists in rural development research and education programs to improve the social and economic well-being of rural people in the region. The NCRCRD also provides leadership in rural development regionally and nationally by identifying, developing and supporting programs on the vanguard of emerging issues.

Uniform Crime Reporting Program (2005): US - Crime in the United States, 2005, presents 81 data tables containing information on various types of crime. The Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program is a nationwide, cooperative statistical effort of more than 17,000 city, university and college, county, state, tribal, and federal law enforcement agencies voluntarily reporting data on crimes brought to their attention.
